In one of the first interviews she gave after the rehearsal, she looks confident and calm, despite the responsibility, excitement and rivalry that awaits her. She is sure that New York will soon submit to her, and not only her. In addition to the jury, Elena managed to win the hearts of the audience, she was awarded the prize of audience sympathy.
The jury did not immediately decide to give the Grand Prix to a parody girl, and all because of the name Lebebaum, then she still did not have a pseudonym . It was after the contest, according to the story of Irina Ponarovskaya, Elena was advised to take a pseudonym. The stage name was chosen together with Los Angeles Vinokur. The image of a sparrow from the song of Edith Piaf always surfaced in Elena’s head.
In addition, Elena herself sang this song when she parodied the actress in the theater, the pseudonym of the singer is translated as “sparrows” and in childhood the parodist was often called a sparrow. This image suited the character of Elena in the best way. So Elena Vorobey “was born”.
