Are Your Children Ready for Real Life?

What Should a 21st Century Education Look Like?

We homeschooling parents know we’re giving our children a decent academic education. But let’s face it – we sometimes wonder if we really know how to equip them to be the adults the 21st Century needs. After all, the world our children are inheriting will be more complex, uncertain, and turbulent than the one we had to face.

The “Ready for Real Life” webinar, hosted by the entire Botkin family, will take on the practical side of educating children for the real world, also tackling every-day issues like saving money on curriculum, teaching your children to take responsibility for their own education, dealing with different learning styles, teaching social skills and confidence, helping children who don’t like to read or write, creating an educational home environment, and helping children learn marketable skills.

Hear from each member of the Botkin family, as they talk about lessons they’ve learned along the way, books and resources they recommend, things that worked for them, and things they’ll never do again.

Six Sessions, Plus Bonus Q & A Sessions

Webinar sessions will run every Tuesday evening, 7PM CST, from September 3-October 15. Each session will include time for Q&A, plus you’ll get a bonus Q&A session at the end.

Editor’s Note: Last fall my daughter and I attended the Reclaiming Beauty webinar hosted by the Western Conservatory, and I was impressed with the quality of information and the rich, life-changing way of thinking about beauty from a Christian perspective. It was the most balanced and biblical presentation I had ever heard on the subject. I’ve purchased several additional resources from the Western Conservatory over the years and have never once been disappointed.

  1. Tehila says:

My greatest question and wonder about homeschooling is how much I should “school” my children, and how much I should leave “just living life” to teach them… constant struggle…

    Thanks for this great opportunity!

I love a list of biblical resources geared towards the different roles of sons and daughters

  4. Leah says:

My biggest hurdle right now is actually how to scheduling homeschooling– in the most practical sense. One mom, lots of people all needing attention/help at the same time. How to make it all flow and actually work!

  5. Genieve says:

My biggest homeschooling fear would probably be that I will not have the energy and patience to homeschool my children for all of these upcoming years.

  6. Cindy says:

Well, since you asked, my greatest fear is that my precious ones will get to know their mama just a smidgen too well because they’re hanging out with her all day. I’m not sure my character can withstand the scrutiny. Time will tell. :-)

Fitting in teaching time one on one with everyone is hard!

  8. Suzanne Heinrich says:

My biggest concern is how I’m going to get in scope and sequence requirements while encouraging self-directed love of learning life activities. Will I be able to hear the voice of God’s direction?

  9. Kelly Zak says:

We have been so impressed by the materials the Botkin family puts out. How exciting!

  10. Micah says:

How do I teach each child their lessons AND cook 3 nutritious meals a day AND nurse the baby AND keep everyone in clean clothes AND keep the dust bunnies at bay, all on very little sleep?! Did I mention that right now I’m only teaching 3 out of my 6 and we are focusing just on phonics and math?
