Giveaway! Introducing New DVD: Homemaking 101~Encouragement and Instruction

By Contributing Writer, Jennifer Ross

Where there is no vision, the people perish.

Proverbs 29:18

Oh dear friends!  Over twenty years ago I was delighted to be launched into homemaking.  I was barely out of high school, newly married and expecting our first child.  It was all I ever wanted.   My hopes and dreams all throughout high school had been of marriage, motherhood, and homemaking.

I excelled in my calling for the first few years.  But when the initial excitement of the newness waned and trials came, I found myself in a need of that older Titus 2 woman.  She was no where to be found, and I felt as if I were groping in the darkness.

It’s not as though I didn’t know how to care for my home.  I had a mother who had trained me well in that area as I was growing up, and, as one of those girls who always wanted to hold babies, taking care of my own children just came naturally.

It was the encouragement I was craving.

Hebrews 3:13 says we are to: “…encourage one another daily.”  As a new Christian, I read my Bible several hours each day.  My children were young, and it was easy to read in the morning before they woke up and again at nap time.

I knew I was in need of encouragement, and I knew what God’s Word had to say about it.

My own mother had worked full time during the years that my children were very young, and when she did finally quit working, we moved 2000 miles across the country.  It was here, in a small Midwest church, that I met a lovely young girl.  She was barely out of high school, newly married and had just had her first child.  I saw my younger self in her, in so many ways.

She desperately needed the encouragement that so many of us long for–that I longed for at that age.    And I knew she wasn’t the only one.  We got to know each other quickly, and we have been dear friends for the past 9 years.

Just Google “stay at home mom feeling alone,” and you’ll find hundreds of results that reveal a common plea.

Young wives need encouragement.

I delight in sharing the joys of homemaking with just about everyone!   So delighted in fact, that our family has produced “Homemaking 101.”

This film is designed to give the basics in homemaking.  And because I know so well the need for encouragement in Biblical homemaking, we have included generous amounts of vision and encouragement.  We’ve even have interviews with an older Titus 2 woman who now has grandchildren of her own!

Our site where we’re selling Homemaking 101 is being finicky about codes. It won’t allow us to use the % sign in our coupon codes. I’ve had to change it to “25VW” (so, please use that, instead of the one with the % sign)

    My apologies!
