Everyday Talk: Talking Freely and Naturally about God with Your Children

This is our Tuesday’s Treasure for the Taking this week!

The back of the book says this:

God first gave specific instructions for being a parent in Deuteronomy 6.  He instructs parents to talk to their children everyday about God and His ways.  Everyday Talk offers practical, creative ways to do that.  Learn how to use ordinary conversations to show your kids the goodness and wisdom of God.  With clear biblical teaching, John Younts illustrates how to lead your children into a greater awareness of the presence and glory of God.

I have not read this book personally, but there are many rave reviews on Amazon if you’d like to take a gander over there and see what the buzz is.

You can also enter to win a free copy of Everyday Talk right here!  All you need to do is leave a comment telling  us how many years you’ve been married along with how many children you currently have and the age range!  (I thought it would be fun to find out a little bit about each one of you!)  So I would say I’ve been married 19 years and have 8 children ages 17 down to 1 year.  I also have 5 little ones who have gone ahead of us into eternity.  If you have children at home with the Lord, be sure to mention them too.  I always feel like I’m “leaving them out” when I talk about my children…and it makes me sad to not include them.

If you are a maiden, tell us how many siblings you have and where you fall in the birth order!

If you have any other tips on the subject of having meaningful conversations with children, feel free to pass those on as well!

And now, here are some pictures of our youngest, Peter, who just turned one yesterday.  I am looking forward to having many conversations about God with him in the years to come, Lord willing.  (I’m secretly praying God will make him a preacher one day…oh…I guess it’s not a secret anymore…)

WHAAAAAAt is this green prickly stuff I am sitting in????  How can a preacher preach in THIS?!
My beloved, I’m telling you the truth…believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!
Please feel free to come visit my church in a few years.  I’m following in Pastor Piper’s footsteps…

Thanks for remembering those little ones in heaven, Natalie. It has been so hard to answer that question in the last number of weeks…
