Fool’s Gold, Queen’s Gold

Fool's Gold, Queen's Gold

I don’t know much about gold mining. I do remember learning a little about how folks in early America would travel west to pan for gold in hopes of getting rich. They would basically fill a shallow pan with gravel and filter it with water, looking for gold that might be mixed in with the sand.

I think it was a time consuming process that mostly resulted in – well – wasted time, BUT, there were a few who persisted and eventually made some money through the process.

We all pan for gold.

The question is, what kind of gold are we panning for?

  • Money?
  • Stuff?
  • Popularity?
  • Spirituality?
  • Acceptance?
  • Human love?
  • Admiration?
  • Comfort?
  • Food?
  • Ease?
  • Success?

That stuff isn’t gold. That stuff is fake. It shimmers and shines and attracts fools who don’t know any better. But it holds no allure for queens.

Queens recognize the real thing.

Queens invest in the real thing.

If you are a daughter of the Living God, you are a queen. Are you making the transition out of darkness into light? Are you coming into your own? Are you grasping hold of your inheritance?

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” (Romans 11:33)

A Golden Book

The riches and wisdom and knowledge of God are found in a little black book. A book written for queens. A book written for you.

“Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” (Proverbs 2:13-15)

“Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold.” (Psalm 119:127)

“My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.” (Proverbs 8:19)

A Golden King

The treasures of wisdom and knowledge are found in the Nazarene God-man, Jesus Christ. The King. The Brother of queens. A King born for you.

“…that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3)

Go for the Gold

This gold is yours for the taking. But you must mine for it. You must invest in it. You can get a little bit of gold here and there from others who have spent their lives mining. You can read books and listen to sermons and talk to wise kings and queens of Narnia who have gone before you. But you will never access the full wealth you are entitled to as a queen yourself unless you pursue The Source yourself. With all your heart.

“If you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 2:4-5)

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” (Matt. 13:44)

Embrace and Become

Fellow queens of Narnia, as you mine for this real gold in the nitty gritty of each passing day, you will, more and more, become gold yourself. That is your destiny. To embrace the real Treasure – and to BECOME a real treasure to your King.

“And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’” (Zechariah 13:9)

“So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory…” (I Peter 1:7-8)

A Golden Queen

Sisters, you are no fools. Walk through the fires. Rise to your places as queens. And we will meet one day; fine gold upon our heads.

“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.” (Job 23:10)

“For you meet him with rich blessings; you set a crown of fine gold upon his head.” (Psalm 21:3)
