Ballet Recital

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.

  1. So Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing. I stopped in all the busyness this morning to read the usual email notification of you post. When I saw this it was like a breath of fresh air to me. I am Mom to 5 daughters (just about all grown) and it’s been a hard few weeks for me. Last night realized I needed to desperately give time to myself. As silly as it sounds seeing these pics and the quote reminded me to stop and enjoy the beauty in every moment God gives. :)

    • I know what you mean. I’m always inspired by bloggers who take these kinds of pictures, and I think, “I don’t have TIME to do that! But I wish I did!” Just so you know – these pictures were taken with a dose of stress under my skin. But yes, afterward I am so thankful I captured a couple of sweet, fleeting moments. I wish I had caught more, but the rest of my time was spent having hot flashes over trivial stressful circumstances that I’m hopeful I’ll never remember a year from now. :)

And yes, give time to yourself. It is imperative to one’s physical, spiritual, and emotional health. I’m still learning how to do that. Thank you for commenting, Denise.

      • I just read Joe Rigney’s fabulous new book The Things of Earth: Treasuring God by Enjoying His Gifts. When I saw the pictures of your beautiful children, I thought of the book and how it has encouraged me to treasure God in the enjoyment of his gifts. I highly recommend the book! Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures of some of your precious gifts!

  2. How beautiful! I’m grateful to God for precious children and sweet moments like that. May you be able to savor that beauty in the less lovely moments, as well.
