I read this intriguing little book several years ago, and it was as if God splashed cold water all over my face. It was startling, eye-opening, convicting, and…refreshing. A quick read, but jam packed with informative history and biblical analysis, this book lends a lot of balance to the issue of modesty. As the publisher states, it is “a treatise that avoids both license and legalism.”
In light of the current, evangelical Wemmick hysteria over Soul Surfer, I thought I would toss this booklet out for consideration for those who may be feeling that dissonance in their spirit over the issue…but aren’t sure why. That would have described me 10 years ago. I’m so grateful to God for faithfully leading me to water whenever I’m thirsty! He is so good to His little Wemmicks!
You can purchase this book from Vision Forum OR from Amazon. Over at Amazon they have some more reviews to read as well. Whenever you purchase a book from a link provided on this website, the funds generated will go toward the purchase of books to help build lending libraries for Visionary Womanhood groups. I will also be offering give aways as funds allow. In other words, you are supporting a ministry that enables visionary materials to be distributed to women all over the country.
Also, I am beginning to add to my menu pages. I was able to work for awhile yesterday on adding to the book list for women which is listed under the Resources menu. I hope to do a summer reading book list for teen boys soon and let you know about a plan that I started 2 summers ago with my older boys to redeem those summer months and fill their minds/thoughts with excellence. I took my 17 and almost 15 year old out for lunch yesterday, and I must say that they are some of the most interesting, informed, and pleasant company that I could ever hope for. They are truly home-grown, dear friends of mine.
Now…taking my 7 and 5 year old out for lunch…well that’s a different story. ; )
