…and there shall be joy to thee, and gladness, and many at his birth shall joy…
Luke 1:14
Memory is the mother of traditions. Almost all of our special days are celebrated because they remind us of something significant in the past… Our celebrations are occasions to look back and remember what God has done in the world and in our lives. ~Noel Piper
With the Christmas season upon us, we spend the month in anticipation–wondering and weaving our way through the history, stories, prophesies, and roots of the one who was born to give His life.
Remembering
We spend time with family and friends, sharing in love, wrapped up in the warmth of giving hearts.
Connecting
We laugh and cry. We sing the beautiful songs of Christmas past and the new ones of today.
Reflecting
Tradition. It’s a way of keeping the memories alive year after year. It’s…

Reflecting
One of our traditions that we began about five or six years ago is celebrating Advent.
Advent: an arrival or coming, especially one which is awaited
And so we each year we focus on the Advent. We have a time of family worship where we light candles that reminded us of the promises, hope, love and light of Jesus Christ. We read passages from Scripture that help us to focus on the gift of the Savior, His legacy, His lineage, HIS story.
There are SO many different ways you can choose to celebrate Advent. The key is finding out what fits your family and making it your own.
