Are You Getting Two E-mails From VW Each Day? Here’s Why, and What You Can Do!

If you are a subscriber to the Visionary Womanhood blog and you’re getting TWO e-mails per day…I’ll bet you’re annoyed!  I know I am!

Here’s the problem.  I was using Feedburner to automatically send out our posts, but noticed that it was not responding to any of the account changes I wanted to make.  After three weeks of frustration with no technical support, I switched my rss feed to be delivered by Mail Chimp…and transferred my subscriber list over there.

Then I cancelled my e-mail delivery from Feedburner.  But remember what I said about Feedburner ignoring any of my account changes?  Well, even though my account showed that e-mail delivery was cancelled, they CONTINUED to send out my posts!  So this meant you were getting posts now delivered from Feedburner AND Mail Chimp.  (I LOVE Mail Chimp, by the way.  Can you guess how I feel about Feedburner?)

Next step?  I DELETED MY FEED ENTIRELY FROM FEEDBURNER.  Supposedly they don’t even have it anymore.  Here’s where the Twilight Zone music starts to play…

You all got e-mail posts from Feedburner AGAIN!!  How? I have no idea.  It’s downright freaky.  But here’s the real kicker: Feedburner will no longer let me “in” to do anything more.  It says my username and password are non-existent.  Basically, Visionary Womanhood does not exist as far as Feedburner is concerned, yet they continue to send our posts to all of you.

And they probably will for all eternity…UNLESS YOU GET PROACTIVE. 

Here’s what you can do: UNSUBSCRIBE to the Feedburner version of our email posts.  Basically, see where the post is coming from, and if it says at the top:” Visionary Womanhood via Google” and at the bottom right hand corner: “email delivery powered by Google”…that’s the renegade Feedburner version.  It’s the ugly one.  Unsubscribe as soon as you can.

The new one is delivered by Mail Chimp and looks pretty nice.  Keep that one.

So there you have it.  There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
