Really REALLY Good (Don’t Miss Them!) Gems in the Web 3/8/12

  • If you think heaven could be a yawn with a side of snores, you will LOVE reading this article by Raymond Moore: Why the Afterlife Bores Us.
  • And if you like that article, you’ll love reading more by Moore on this topic: A Purpose Driven Cosmos: Why Jesus Doesn’t Promise us an Afterlife.
  • If your funny bone needs tickling, you’ll get it here: Ministry Beards: Facial Hair Matters to Good Ministry (This is one your husband will enjoy right along with you.)

I don’t do a lot of blog reading, actually. And it is rare to find a blog that I fall head over heels in love with, but this past month I found a VERY SPARKLY GEM just sitting out there waiting to be discovered.  It’s Get Along Home by Cindy Dyer.  She’s incredibly smart and hysterically funny. But best of all, she’s right on. She’ll either make you pig-bitin’ mad (she’s not nicey, nicey), or you will be as infatuated as I am. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading her yet, here are a few of my favorites (and it was hard to pick):

Child-Free and Loving It

Bloggers and You (The Reader)

Blessings and Curses

Just Mommy

Oh, and by the way, if she ticks you off, please don’t come back here and leave angry comments.  Leave them on her blog.  She loves that.

A mother of nine, homemaker, business owner (Apple Valley Natural Soap), and most importantly, a Wemmick loved by the Woodcarver.

  1. I hadn’t found Cindy’s blog yet, so thanks for the link. I loved reading there. Sometimes very funny, but grounded in truth.

  2. I love Cindy….. I like to read her because it would be what I would write if I did as well as she does!!!

  3. I just found her blog about a month ago and LOVE it! She expresses so much of what I believe – but in a way that’s straightforward and hilarious (or can’t-turn-away infuriating, if you’re on the other side of the issue ;-), rather than dry and preachy. So cool to see that others are finding her blog too!
