I’ve wanted to update my blog for a long time, and the time has finally come! I “met” Mindy of Simply Designs a few years ago when we were both contributors to Keeper of the Home. Since that time Mindy started her own web design business and is now laying out some beautiful, fun designs for bloggers like me. She has been pure joy to work with. Wish I could smoosh her in a big bear hug. She just had a baby too!

Natural Deodorant from Apple Valley Natural Soap

I’m a wedding photographer and I spend most Saturdays during the summer sweating in the hot sun as I photograph outdoor receptions and portraits. I don’t wear deodorant on a regular basis, but by the end of a wedding day I smell so bad that I’m afraid to say goodbye to the bride and groom for fear that they’ll notice how sweaty I smell! I had resorted to borrowing my husband’s “toxic” deodorant until I found this one and I cannot express how impressed I am with this product. My second photographer and I have both switched to “natural” deodorants and we do “smell checks” throughout the wedding day and are always delighted to find that we remain smelling great using natural deodorants even with all the sweating we do. I want to buy this deodorant for everyone I love to get them off the toxic, conventional ones I know they’re using daily. Dry Shampoo from Apple Valley Natural Soap

This dry shampoo is wicked awesome! Not only does it smell good (Twisted citrus…..would it wrong to eat it? That’s how good it smells!) but it doesn’t irritate my skin. The canister that it come in is cute & the powder doesn’t come pouring out. I just tap it on my head and get the right amount out.

Pink Himalayan Salt Bar by Apple Valley Natural Soap

I have used salt bars in the past but never one quite like this one. It smells great, feels great and lathers like no soap has ever lathered before. Instead of a hand full of fluffy soap bubbles, this bar turns into a thick rich shaving cream consistency. I played with this soap bar for a good ten minutes before I finally decided it was time to leave it be until the next hand washing opportunity. You can bet I will be wanting more of this particular bar. Great soap from a great company.
