And to Think…It’s Only the Second Day…

Do your home school days EVER go as planned?  Mine do.  Once or twice a year.  Today was not one of those days.  Wanna see one of our typical days? Here we go…

"I did NOT want eggs. Now I'm going to have a BAD DAY!"

"Do I HAVE to get up??? I think I'm sick again today."

Oldest Girl: Morning Quiet Time

Phy Ed in nightgown. Don't forget purse.

"I LOVE waking up...and I LOVE eggs and toast!"

Middle Girl: Supposed to be doing math. Doing art instead.

Another Middle Girl: Dutifully doing math

Detour to the Doctor for shots and finger pricks. "I don't like this day anymore."

Detour #2: Target. Pregnant teacher is craving Totinos party pizza and Ho Hos. Students rejoice.

Music Lessons

Science video: Body of Evidence by Dr. David Menton. Kids are eagerly eating up every word.

And that about does it.  I didn’t take pictures of the three melt-downs, the head banging, the basement and bedrooms where you can no longer see the floor…and a few other unmentionables.  I’ll save those for another day.

A mother of nine, homemaker, business owner (Apple Valley Natural Soap), and most importantly, a Wemmick loved by the Woodcarver.

  1. How funny is it that our family can absolutely 100% relate! But I have no disagreement with the pregnancy cravings! For us it means McDonald’s and Burger King every eleven months.

    • Ha! Funny how kids support their mamas in those kinds of things…”Oh yes mom…I really think you NEED that pack of candy bars and those bags of chips!”

  2. Thank you Natalie for an honest and real post about homeschool days. This helps moms like me who are just starting out not to beat ourselves up when we have days like this. My favorite was Phy-Ed in jams and a purse! Thanks again for sharing your heart this way! I was very encouraged!

  3. “I did NOT want eggs. Now I’m going to have a BAD DAY!”

Sounds exactly like our first day of school!!

Thanks for the smile, now I can go face my little Servants-of-Christ-in-Training with a lighter heart.
