A Giveaway and Beautiful Opportunity to Help a Hurting Mother

DSC_0793-1024x742 My heart is with Give Her Wings. I love Megan Cox and all that she is doing to emotionally, spiritually, and practically help mothers in the process of escaping the torture of domestic abuse. This month they are doing a really lovely fundraiser that can bless women in two ways.

First, when you purchase one of these gorgeous hand crafted, one-of-a-kind cuff bracelets, the profits will all go toward financially helping a woman named Sunbeam and her four little girls. Here is a little excerpt from Megan’s page about this precious woman:

She told us about how her ex husband had kept them all in a trailer with no heat, completely boarded up with no sunshine coming in for a year and a half. When she went to her church, they told her that “she complains too much”. She told me about how she brings her children to Sunday school and then hides in the library to read her Bible because she cannot worship without weeping. “So far,” she added with a hint of a smile, “No one has found me in there.”

When we sat down, in the booth at McDonalds, just April mama and me, the seats were flooded with bright sunshine. I said, “Is that too much sun for you?” She quietly said, “I love sunshine.” I almost broke down right there. How could anyone lock her away without warmth or love for such a long time? Because of this, she will be called “Sunbeam” by this little ministry, to protect her and her babies’ reputations.

Oh please, will you go right over and read more about this woman HERE?  And then check out their website for all the details on this exclusive cuff bracelet. Alternatively, you can click HERE to order. Just donate $35 to Give Her Wings, note whether you would like the Spanish or English version of the bracelet, and make sure to include a shipping address.

DSC_0793-1024x742Your donation will not only bless Sunbeam and show her and her children the love of Christ, but you will receive one of these precious bracelets to gift to someone else (or maybe to encourage yourself to remember that He is your refuge and you are held!) See how the blessing multiplies?

I Would LOVE to Bless One of YOU!

I do! I would like to purchase a bracelet and give it to one of my readers. To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment. I’d love to know if you have a favorite article here – or if there is a specific way this blog has been a benefit to your life. If you have a suggestion or any kind of feedback, I’d love to hear that as well. I will pick a winner this coming weekend and update this article with the winner’s name.

  3. I just learned about your website through Give Her Wings where I read regularly. I look forward to reading your articles.

    Thank you for helping Sunbeam.

  4. Love your blog! I follow on Facebook so I never miss an article. Beautiful bracelet for a beautiful cause.

  5. This post really touched my heart. Thank you for sharing about this ministry.

  6. I am currently in an abusive relationship. I’m thankful to realize it is NOT just “in my head”.

  7. Natalie, your blog, as well as Give Her Wings, has blessed me abundantly as I travel this journey, that none of us should have to travel. I would SO buy one of the bracelets, if I could. Maybe one day soon, I will be able to bless others again. Until then, I am taking steps in freedom I forgot I had. Thank you for all you do.

    • I’m sure you would. Sometimes we are in a place to bless, and sometimes we are in a place to BE blessed. Both are wonderful places to be. Taking freedom steps right next to you! <3

  9. I LOVE bracelets! I LOVE this verse, it was actually the exact verse God gave me when my abusive family of origin was throwing me into a pit, like Joseph in the Bible. I was so afraid of them and when God gave me this verse, I felt SAFE. The scars of my abuse are in the form of body fat so this kind of bracelet will not fit on my arm. I am free now so I want to donate another bracelet via Visionary Womanhood. Natalie please contact me as to how I can purchase this for you to give away one more.

    • Oh, Sandy. That is a beautiful gesture with a back story to go with it. I will pick two winners then – and pass along the information for one of them to you. That way you can just go to the link and purchase a bracelet and enter the winner’s snail mail address and send it directly to them. I’ll keep in touch. You are amazing!!

  10. I have this Psalm in front of the throne in my bathroom. I read it every morning. I love to read what you write. :)

  11. I love the encouragement and transparency in the blog posts. Thank you for letting your light shine. ♥

  12. Natalie I love your inspirational emails. I hide away in my garage to sit and read so my 4 kids can’t find me. ;)……then I can finish in one sitting. My favorite is “Deprograming from Christian lies”. I found a link on a friends Facebook page for that and I’ve read your blog ever since! I guess I have a few years of catching up, so much truth to read thank you for being so honest. So excited to visit the Give Her Wings blog. This verse is one that God continually has me share with women I meet to encourage them in their situation.

    • That’s funny! Sometimes I will go in the bathroom and pretend I’m occupied just to have 5 minutes to myself. Awk. They still bang on the door. :)

  13. You have a much needed voice in this world! Thank you for your posts! I’m trying to figure out how to have a life that doesn’t include verbal and emotional abuse and manipulation.

    • I’m so sorry. It’s a long, difficult journey. It took me 23 years to figure it out for my own life. I know God has a plan for yours – and He will help you walk it out. You are loved.

  14. Give Her Wings is such a great ministry! I love the idea of names to protect the moms, it reminds me of the old hymn, “There’s a New Name Written Down in Glory!”

  15. My favorite article is the one that you confessed all that was really happening in your life. From the outside looking in at your life, here on the blog, things looked great. Took such strength and courage to us know what was going on.
